In a world facing increasing pressure through climate change, global food shortages and public health crises, the Novo Nordisk Foundation is continuously seeking to increase our impact with the overall vision to improve people’s health and the sustainability of society and the planet.
The Novo Nordisk Foundation is today among the largest private foundations in the world. The foundation is growing rapidly, and today employs approximately 245 people.
The Job
As Legal Counsel you will be the first point of contact in providing high-quality legal sparring to the organisation. We are searching for a lawyer who will see solutions from a pragmatic legal perspective.
The tasks will include:
- Daily legal sparring with our programme areas by transforming complex legal matters to long term and sustainable solutions.
- Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting contracts, grant agreements and NDAs.
- Close and proactive collaboration both within the Novo Nordisk Foundation and within the Legal team with colleagues specialised in IP and Compliance.
- Assistance in preparation of material to the Board of Directors and Management.
- Ad hoc legal projects to optimise internal legal processes.

Professional and personal Qualifications
We are looking for a Legal Counsel with 3-5 years’ professional legal experience in Denmark.
We expect that you have:
- A Danish Master of Laws (LL.M) or cand.merc.jur.
- Broad corporate law background experience with foundation law, corporate foundations, company law and governance will be a plus.
- Experience with writing commercial contracts, reviewing, interpreting, and translating legal matters.
- Flair for IT and presentations.
- Excellent communication and legal drafting skills in English.
- Great abilities to interact and communicate with various stakeholders at all levels.
