If so, you might be just the Data Specialist we are looking for as a Paternity Leave cover in our Data Department!

Our Data Department is anchored within the Foundation’s Impact Area. The vision of the Data Department is to provide high quality data and advanced data driven solutions that support the Foundation’s strategy, key goals and deliver high impact along the whole value chain of the Foundation.

The Impact Area’s purpose is to assess the impact of the Foundation’s activities and monitor our progress towards our strategic goals. The Impact Area’s strategy is to develop excellent novel and research-based analysis of funding science, education, innovation and capacity building, and to disseminate results that can shed light on the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s impact on society.

The Impact Area consists of 14 highly qualified and passionate colleagues, including six people in the Data Department. As a team, we strive for the highest quality in our work based on strong professional experience, dedication, and the passion for creating an impact within our respective areas.

The job is a paternity leave cover running seven months from 1 June to 31 December 2024.

The Job

As Data Specialist, you will support the Data Department with overarching business activities and processes. This includes working on strategic and operational projects and supporting key administrative processes. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in the Data Department and in the entire Impact Area, e.g., assisting the Head of Data on strategic projects and the Data Managers with processing and analysis of data.

In this role you will be the go-to-person for colleagues across the Foundation as well as for our grant recipients who have queries regarding collecting and our reporting processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Data Department with overarching business activities and internal processes.
  • Support the process around data collection in Researchfish and Foundgood to fulfil the requirement for reporting and high-quality data.
  • Responding to requests from internal and external stakeholders regarding data reporting and collection and providing support where needed.
  • Assist the Data Department on topics related to ESG/CRSD compliance reporting e.g. data management, processing, defining sustainability indicators and analysis.
  • Supporting the use of PowerBI or similar analytic tools.
  • Managing smaller projects and automation process within the Data Department.

Depending on your background and interests, you will have the opportunity to shape the role and develop your professional skills, whether that would be technically or within project management.

Professional and Personal Qualifications

Our ideal candidate is motivated by working hands-on with data and developing their professional competencies in close collaboration with a team of experts within data science and data analytics. We imagine that you have a couple years of work experience in a role where you have been tasked with data management, modelling, visualization or reporting from a research-heavy environment, whether during your studies or following graduation.

If you have strong technical skills and experience with coding (e.g., SQL, Python or R), that would be an advantage, but it is more important to us that you are enthusiastic about learning, and passionate about using data to create knowledge.

We expect that you have:

  • A master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Economics, Sociology, Business Administration, Environment and natural resources, Data or Information Management
  • Experience with project or grant administration
  • Experience with data management, data analysis and data visualization
  • Understanding of analytical tools such as PowerBI
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in Danish and English
  • A strong ability to collaborate and engage with internal and external stakeholders
  • A proactive mindset and motivation to work in a sometimes-unpredictable environment
  • A team player approach and thrives in a collaborative working environment
