Quantum Foundry Copenhagen is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to develop next generation quantum chip fabrication tools based on Ultra High Vacuum systems
Do you want to be a part of pioneering quantum computing in a world-class quantum ecosystem in the heart of Copenhagen? Quantum Foundry Copenhagen is a newly founded company, owned by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF), aimed at developing next generation Quantum Computing Processor technologies.
Our mission is to establish a foundry capable of manufacturing quantum processor units using novel UHV methods that meet the extreme requirements for purity and precision that are needed to bring Quantum Computing to scale.
In close collaboration with the NNF Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP) at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, and other international quantum computing initiatives, the objective is to pioneer UHV-based fabrication and packaging methods for manufacturing state-of-the-art quantum processors. Quantum Foundry Copenhagen has novel and ambitious approaches including the use of UHV, in-situ fabrication and will also develop new tools and techniques for chip production.
Join the team
Quantum Foundry Copenhagen is assembling a small and growing team of talented and diverse international professionals. We are located adjacent to the Niels Bohr Institute in the heart of Copenhagen. Quantum Foundry Copenhagen is part of a vibrant and growing Danish quantum ecosystem and collaborates closely with world-leading researchers in the NQCP quantum computing program that will facilitate and drive research and innovations at multiple levels from developing scalable quantum processor technologies to solutions for the quantum-classical control and readout interface, and all the way to quantum algorithms and applications.
The Job
In your new role you will be working on the development of high precision tools and automation of UHV in-situ fabrication processes. The work will be done in close collaboration with the Platform Integration and Materials, Fabrication and Packaging teams, and includes essential characterization methods which fulfills the requirements for ultra-pure materials synthesis.
The tools will enable quantum platforms based on, but not limited to, semiconductor spin qubits, superconducting qubits and photonic qubits.
Your duties and tasks will include:
We are striving to be a world leading foundry and offer competitive salaries along with the many benefits of living in Copenhagen one of the most liveable cities in the world. Benefits also include health insurance, pension scheme and a chance to contribute to a dynamic and innovative team.
We work closely with researchers and scientists to develop new technology but as a company we do not publish research. The level of the position and the scope of responsibilities will be based on experience and background.
Professional and Personal Qualifications
We are looking for a mechanical engineer, to be part of this ambitious and dedicated team that develops tools for supporting fabrication of ultra-pure and high precision chip manufacturing.
You may have several years of experience and want to work at the cutting edge of technology. You can see new solutions to problems and work with your colleagues to help Quantum Foundry Copenhagen becoming one of the leading foundries in the world.
To succeed in the role you have:
Further, you are a strong collaborator with great communication skills. Your colleagues would describe you as analytical, structured and curious. You are a team-player and work to develop the best solutions with input from highly skilled colleagues in
