We're seeking a dedicated Senior Engineer to contribute to a critical business domain of expense mgt. In this role, you will be an integral part of a dynamic product squad, directly impacting our expansion across European markets.
## **The Senior Engineer Role:**
As a Senior Engineer at Ageras, you'll play a vital role in developing our fintech solutions. You will be a key individual contributor within your squad, focusing on delivering high-quality, impactful code. You'll address complex domain-specific challenges, ensuring that our products evolve to meet the needs of freelancers and micro businesses.
You'll collaborate closely with Staff Engineers and report to an Engineering Manager, contributing to the squad's success through your technical expertise and hands-on approach.
This position is in our Expense squad who focus on delivering seamless expense flows for our thousands of customers.
## **Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead the development and implementation of critical features within your squad .
- Deliver high-quality code consistently, setting a benchmark within the team.
- Address complex problems within the squad’s domain and secure, scalable solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers, guiding them in best practices and code excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless feature integration.
- Prioritise immediate squad needs, aligning with broader company goals.
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality.
- Implement automated testing strategies to ensure product reliability.
- Optimise applications and systems for maximum efficiency and performance.
- Troubleshoot and address production issues, minimising impact on operations.
- Engage with the latest fintech technologies and practices, advocating for innovations that benefit the team.
## **Expense team Tech Stack:**
- Mainly PHP, but also Typescript
- Own PHP framework, Laravel and Node.js
- Internal Design System + Storybook + Chromatic
- React, Styled Components, React Native
- GitHub Actions, ESLint / Prettier / Husky
- AWS, Docker, Terraform
- Mysql for DB
- Datadog
- Cypress, Jest, React Testing Library
## **Qualifications:**
- Extensive experience in engineering (3+ years), ideally in the fintech sector and with a keen understanding of its unique challenges.
- Demonstrated expertise in DDD and the development of complex systems.
- Strong proficiency in PHP and/or Node.js
- Proven ability in problem-solving across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English.
