As our new Corporate Responsibility Manager, you will be a central part in establishing and maintaining our Corporate Responsibility approach, development, and reporting. You will work independently but in close collaboration with Compliance and Risk Colleagues and the entire organization in both Denmark, Germany, and the US, and with many different stakeholders internally as well as externally.

You will be responsible for updating, improving, and driving the Ascendis Pharma Corporate Responsibility Approach, which is a business-driven approach that includes CSR, ESG and Ethics. Additionally, you will support our organization in working towards the goals and parameters set. You will join the Compliance Team, who in addition to Compliance is working with the Ascendis Pharma Enterprise Risk Management, Trademarks and Corporate Responsibility. You will be the sole driver of the Ascendis pharma Corporate Responsibility Approach, in close connection with the appointed Corporate Responsibility drivers, and you will report directly to VP, Compliance, Risk amp; Corporate Responsibility, based in Hellerup, Denmark. As we are a small team it is important that you thrive in a role where no tasks are too small or too big to handle.

Criteria of success in this role will be to be able to work independently in a continuous effort to update and improve our Corporate Responsibility Approach. Including but not limited to reaching out to the relevant stakeholders in order to shape the organization and increase awareness about the importance of Corporate Responsibility from a business-value and business-driven perspective.

Main areas of responsibility may be (but will depend on the candidate’s experience):

  • Drive our Corporate Responsibility Approach
  • Manage stakeholder engagements
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments
  • Develop policies
  • Support the organization in relevant KPIs
  • Educate the organization
  • Draft our reports
  • And much more

You hold a relevant academic degree, preferably a Master’s Degree within Social or Environmental Science. Additionally, you have at least 5-8 years of experience within Corporate Responsibility.

You:

  • Are a subject matter expert in ESG and corporate sustainability performance,
  • Bring an understanding of the importance of driving impact, including setting KPIs and tracking performance of sustainability initiatives focused on responsible business practices,
  • Have a good eye for identifying emerging sustainability themes and for positioning the company accordingly and you know how to identify and execute actions to address themes,
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills in English and are able to prepare concise and easy to understand material that meets business interests as well as external stakeholder interests,
  • Have proven project management skills, an ability to work systematically and in a dynamic environment, strong attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset,
  • Are an engaging and curious person with strong interpersonal skills, and have experience working in an international, multi-cultural environment,

You are a highly pro-active, enthusiastic, and goal-oriented individual with a scientific background enjoying challenges and working in a friendly collaborative and quickly developing environment. You are result-oriented, flexible, adaptable, a team-player and good at establishing and maintaining working relationships. You work in a structured way, have a high quality-oriented mindset with the right level of details, still keeping the overall picture in mind. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary as you will be a major contributor and trusted member of the department. The ability to understand your customers’ need and communicate data and recommendations in a professional manner is pivotal. Your approach to Corporate Responsibility is business-driven.

Travelling: 10 days per year.
