Job Description

The role is situated in Vivino’s office in Copenhagen, but we are open for you working out of another location, as long as you can travel regularly and be in the office. You report to the Senior Manager for Performance Marketing, who is situated in San Francisco.


Strategy for and scaling of international Search Engine Marketing programs

As SEM Manager, you are a key member of the Marketing team, helping to lead all SEM campaigns for eCommerce and heading Vivino’s SEM strategy and execution across the globe. In your role, you develop business cases for new marketing opportunities across different platforms, strategies etc. by using data and insights. Because it is from a clean plate, you are not served with a whole lot of history and data instead, you get to be entrepreneurial and innovative in your approach and design.

The objective is, in due time, to build a small and dedicated team to support you, located in San Francisco and Copenhagen. Until then, you balance between strategy and operational execution, and you support the Marketing team in Copenhagen with informal management support and advice.

Some of your responsibilities are to;

  • oversee Vivino’s Global SEM program regarding performance goals, technology development, and attribution and cross-channel optimization.
  • test and expand into more upper-funnel initiatives (Display, YouTube, etc.).
  • set-up campaigns, and execute, report on and optimize these in alignment with marketing objectives.
  • manage and grow a SEM team, and incorporate resources from partner teams like BI, Design, Brand, and Performance Marketing.
  • manage external agencies and technologies - improve services and offerings and recognize needs for strategic education across internal resources.
  • deliver reporting, insights, and forecasts that measure channel performance daily to annually.


Entrepreneurial and internationally minded SEM marketer

It is natural for you to balance between a strategic approach and operational execution. Besides being an enthusiastic and passionate colleague, you possess well-developed people skills, when it comes to listening, asking coaching questions and supporting others.

Professionally, you have experience in following:

  • 5+ years of Search Engine Marketing experience from an agency or client side.
  • Experience managing teams (directly or via project management), leading all aspects of enterprise-level SEM campaigns in Google and other engines, preferably within the eCommerce vertical.
  • Demonstrated success in optimizing and heading campaigns and budgets of a certain size.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, ability to articulate and communicate expertise broadly
  • Data-driven and experienced in using Excel, Looker, Tableau or Datorama to gather and evaluate data to inform strategies and optimizations.
  • Experience with multivariate testing of landing pages across SEM and deep experience with advanced multi-touch attribution (MTA) models, systems and processes, and optimization to that attribution.
