In this newly established role as Accounting Manager, EMEA, you get to influence the evolution of Vivino’s financial structure and be responsible for all aspects of accounting, compliance and finance for Vivino’s 8 EMEA based subsidiaries. You collaborate with and report to the Head of Finance, EMEA, and oversee deliveries from an accounting team / shared service in India and external accounting partners in Vivino’s primary markets.
The role is based in Copenhagen, and with approx. 20 days travelling yearly to the US, India and selected markets. In your role, you enjoy great flexibility, and you must, due to the international nature of your job, expect some late afternoon / early evening meetings. Your team is expected to grow to 2-3 headcounts.
Build and head accounting processes and deliveries for EMEA
As Accounting Manager, your responsibilities are divided between building structure and processes incl. clarifying, communicating and training in separation of responsibilities, and on the other hand, directly and though you team and external partners ensure finance deliveries.
Your own tasks include being hands-on with managing the GL close process, assist with local statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, create and manage accounting policies and improve efficiencies. At all times, you have a look out for how to create a scalable accounting function. You also partner with global and local accountants to ensure all tax and compliance related matters, and you e.g., review new contracts and transactions for potential accounting issues and document findings.
Together with your team, you deliver monthly closings, quarterly reporting and accurate reporting based on US GAAP to be used in the annual reports managed by Group Finance in San Francisco.
Entrepreneurial mindset combined with analytical, organized and people skills
We hope that you consider yourself to be a positive, proactive and pragmatic Accounting Manager, and that you are a self-starter, who are comfortable with creating structure in an entrepreneurial environment. You are able to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast paced environment. In your interaction with others, you are natural in your leadership, communicating convincingly and precisely, and you are able to engage and inspire your surroundings. You also thrive with challenging tasks, where you can learn and acquiree new knowledge.
Professionally, you have 7-10 years’ professional experience in accounting, demonstrating a good career progression. Most likely, you have experience from external auditing, where you have reached Manager level or work in the industry as Accounting Manager. You have experience working in an international environment, where you have been exposed to US GAAP, intercompany processes, GL, tax related matters, and, not least, leading a team or people management. You operate fluently in English, in writing and verbally, and you are located in close proximity to Copenhagen and is able to work out of the Copenhagen office.
