The bigger picture
The team that you will be joining is a mix of Site Reliability Engineers and automation QA engineers and is responsible for building and running our environments in operation as well as expanding on our automated quality assurance. This includes monitoring and logging, incident management, security, CI and deployments, and in collaboration with the engineering team, DevOps practices/tooling, developer happiness, and performance.
You will help the team in several ways:
As the technical manager in the team, you will be responsible for planning the team’s part of our technology roadmap as well as the execution of those plans. This means coordinating with other technical leads on scope and break down of initiatives as well as delivery of these projects and coordinating the technical work of the team on a daily basis ensuring great quality, solid architecture, and taking ownership of the team’s domain.
On a day-to-day basis, you will provide technical feedback to the team, participate in technical discussions, remove impediments as well as provide additional support as needed.
You will be a member of the Engineering Management team, collaborating with your peers to work through challenges and discuss best practices. That comes with great responsibility for the engineers in the team, where you will ensure their professional and personal growth, boosting morale (particularly in these difficult times!) and supporting your team by removing possible obstacles.

  • Managing a growing team of 5 to10 engineers, on both a day-to-day basis but also supporting their personal and professional growth, hiring and retaining great people!
  • Securing motivation, velocity, and agility for the team
  • Ensuring technologies are used efficiently, profitably, and securely
  • Discovering and implementing new technologies that yield a competitive advantage
  • Helping teams use technology profitably and supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Maintaining and improving a healthy Engineering culture full of inclusion, encouragement and transparency
  • Using stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology, product, and platform
  • Own the tools and practices related to operating our services and resources as well as implementation tool-chain and pipelines.
