About the opportunity

We are currently looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our Finance/People team. As our first Payroll Specialist for the Danish market, you'll play a vital role in setting up processes and procedures for the payroll of all office as well as warehouse employees and riders of Gorillas DK. Team up with your international colleagues and work within global standards that you adjust to the needs in the Danish market.

This role will be based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and will report into the People Operations Manager in Copenhagen.


In this role you will:

  • Prepare the monthly wages and salaries of the riders, pickers and the rest of the team
  • Act as the contact person for employees on all aspects of payroll
  • Communicate with health insurance companies, insurance companies and authorities
  • Continuously optimize of the payroll processes and tool
  • Work with headquarters to learn about and implement best practices from our other markets
  • Perform administrative duties, and additional functions, as needed and determined by management

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in the area of payroll accounting. Start-up experience is a plus
  • Up-to-date knowledge on wage tax, pension, social security and other employment laws/regulations (labour law)
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office as well as strong analytical skills, entrepreneurial thinking and a very good understanding of business contexts
  • You are also characterized by a high level of initiative and a structured way of working and are communicative
  • A desire to work in a dynamic environment at one of the fastest growing startups in Europe
  • Act like an owner. We believe that’s a great driving principle
  • You have a hands-on mentality and are willing to get your hands dirty
  • You have very good communication skills and are proficient in both written and spoken English and Danish.
