The role and tasks
We are looking for a structured and talented Head of QA who can build the department and spearhead our cross-team efforts to continuously deliver and improve quality in our products.
You will oversee and manage all activities of the quality assurance teams, develop the departmental vision and build the departmental culture and work standards.
Your responsibilities will include defining quality standards and processes and help developers and QA engineers meet those standards.
You will also:
- Work with the teams to define test plans
- Write and automate test cases for the front-end and back-end applications
- Define the standards for automated testing
- Promoting QA productivity through automation, tools, and other best practices
- Identify, log, prioritize and track defects and accurately communicate them to the development team
- Collaborate with the product teams to plan and facilitate releases with high confidence in the quality
- Analyze and monitor defect metrics within releases, identify trends, and recommend test effectiveness measures and quality conclusions.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a QA engineer, developer, or similar
- Experience writing integration tests and doing cross-browser/device testing
- Experience with Node.js based testing frameworks like WebdriverIO, CypressIO, or similar
- Passion for driving quality throughout the product life cycle
- Excellent service skills with the ability to quickly build professional relationships
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Experience with testing big data applications (performance and functional testing) is a plus
