We have exciting times ahead. While growing, expanding our markets globally, we are scaling up. As part of this journey, we are looking for a new Copenhagen- or London-based colleague in a new role as VP Strategic Planning amp; Finance to be working closely together with the senior management team in Planday. Moreover, following the recent acquisition by?Xero, in this role you will be asked to take ownership in strategic, financial, and operational processes fostering alignment between Planday and Xero.
The new VP Strategic Planning amp; Finance will be reporting to the CEO of Planday and be crucial in leading and executing strategic, financial, and organisational processes. This is a newly created role and besides having our Director of Finance reporting to you, you will be asked to lead a smaller strategic planning team which you will take part in building.
As our new VP Strategic Planning amp; Finance, your responsibilities include:
- Lead strategy development and execution including developing models (e.g., commercial / financial) to run strategic decision making
- Drive the translation of our strategy into actionable goals for performance helping to implement organization-wide goal setting (OKRs) and performance management
- Advice and support the Planday CEO and leadership team on strategic, business-wide projects
- Lead cross-functional team collaboration across Planday and Xero teams
- With strong support from Director of Finance, run the financial agenda in Planday and be overall responsible for Planday budget while being financial sparring partner to the management team
- Act as a key point of contact for Xero around a range of strategic planning and finance activities
- Together with management team perform and coordinate structured communication on progress and strategic development of the company to Planday and the wider Xero organization
- Facilitate cross functional meetings with management and build the storyline for the overall strategic performance

Requirements
If you can say ‘yes’ to the below, you could be our new VP Strategic Planning amp; Finance:
- You have +10 years of experience as strategy/business development, with a spike in finance, as a consultant/manager preferably with a footprint in the international SaaS/technology sector
- You have experience in managing complex cross-enterprise projects and processes
- You have a demonstrated experience in developing and presenting commercial scenarios, investment options, and roadmaps for both short and long-term planning
- You have a strong toolbox in terms of problem-solving, strategy development and execution
- You are diplomatic yet eager to challenge the status quo, hence you don’t just accept a ready-made process, but are proactive in making us work smarter
- You have displayed success of planning revenue growth initiatives and supporting them operationally
- You have an interest in exploring and understanding new technologies, business models, and their potential impact on the competitive landscape and Planday’s core business.
This is an international position, and it is important that you are a skilled communicator who can build lasting relationships with a diverse group of international stakeholders also at C-level. You win their trust by being emotionally intelligent, knowing when to listen, ask questions and when to clearly give your point of view. As a growing international company there will be travelling across our locations.
