About the job
As a technical manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing part of the technology roadmap. This means collaborating with other technical leads to scope out and break down initiatives, as well as delivery and coordination of the technical work within the team. You will ensure great quality, solid architecture, and responsibility for the team’s domain. On a day-to-day basis, you will provide technical feedback to the team, participate in code reviews, remove impediments and provide additional support as needed.
You will be a member of the Engineering Management team, collaborating with your peers to work through challenges and discuss best practices. That comes with great responsibility for the engineers in the team, where you will ensure their professional and personal growth, boosting morale (particularly in these difficult times!), and retaining/hiring more engineers.
The main responsibility of the team is maintaining and building core channel integrations. That includes telecommunication, email providers and social media (Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Twitter). Besides building and improving these channel integrations, the team also focuses on new channels to support.
The Dixa tech-stack that all the product teams (including the Channel team) are using is Scala, React, and AWS. The Channels team is a very backend-heavy team, so an understanding of functional programming language is a big plus.   • Managing a growing team of 4 to 10 engineers, on both a day-to-day basis but also supporting their personal and professional growth, hiring and retaining great people!
  • Overseeing a team that turns ideas into complete features to ensure that technologies are used efficiently, profitably, and securely
  • Discovering and implementing new technologies that yield a competitive advantage
  • Helping teams use technology profitably and supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Using stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology, product, and platform
  • Maintaining and improving a healthy Engineering Culture full of inclusion, encouragement, and transparency
