To support our rapid growth including building a strong, agile and effective, compliant organization, we are looking for an ambitious colleague to join the Corporate Responsibility team which is based within the Group Compliance function.

The position is located in Copenhagen, Denmark, and you will report to VP, Group Compliance, Risk amp; Corporate Responsibility. In this position, we are looking for a person with an analytical mindset with a passion for reporting on corporate Environment, Society, Governance (ESG) performance through solid reporting and data management processes. Main tasks will include:

As ESG Reporting Specialist, your overall responsibility will be to help define, implement and co-ordinate an ESG reporting framework founded on robust data management across Ascendis Pharma, to ensure our readiness to meet current and upcoming EU, US, and relevant Global regulations, and address stakeholder expectations. As such, you will:

  • Define, test and implement robust corporate ESG data gathering protocols and accounting principles that are ready for full or limited assurance once this is required
  • In collaboration with the business, identify relevant Key Performance Indicators to track our ESG progress
  • Assist in the design and development of our annual Corporate Responsibility report and other regulatory filings in relation to ESG performance
  • Assist in coordinating and tracking the activities of the working groups that aim to deliver on the ongoing development of our long-term Corporate Responsibility strategy
  • Coordinate activities in relation to mapping and gathering data on our GHG emissions footprint
  • Support internal stakeholders with Corporate Responsibility projects to ensure smooth handover from project development stage to daily business operations
  • Continuously monitor regulatory developments and requirements in relation to ESG reporting and performance to ensure we prepared to meet such requirements
  • Support the operations, communications, and goals of the Group Compliance function with logistical, system and administrative processes as deemed necessary
  • Maintaining a good understanding of current and future regulatory landscape in relation to, e.g. the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the EU Taxonomy and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive.

Qualifications

We are looking for a person with a background in economics and or data management. Alternatively, you may have experience from providing assurance services as an external auditor, or you may have ESG management and reporting experience from another company.

You likely hold a relevant academic degree economics, data management, or finance and have minimum 2 years’ experience with ESG data management and reporting or assurance services from a consulting setting. Previous experience from the bio/pharma/medical device industry is a great advantage, but not a prerequisite.

You have strong work ethics and willingness to take responsibility for your own learning and ownership of your own tasks. You see yourself working as a team player for the benefit of the entire Ascendis organization and the patients.

The position requires an open mindset, well developed interpersonal skills and competences in project management and communication are a benefit as you will work closely together with many different layers in the organization.

The successful candidate has a keen eye for details and structure and enjoys defining, implementing, and monitoring data flows, and solid experience within ESG reporting is preferable. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and are enthusiastic, outgoing and thrive in an informal environment where you can structure, follow up and complete your own tasks. You are passionate about getting the organization involved in data gathering and reporting activities and have a ‘can-do’ attitude, a good sense of humor and a passion for corporate ESG impact. You have a keen eye for details, structure and getting things organized.

You have experience in defining ESG accounting principles and practical experience setting up data protocols. It is an advantage if you have working experience from one or more of the following reporting standards; SASB, GRI, CDP, TCFD.
