Job Description

SYBO is growing. We’re releasing new games, building on the massive success of Subway Surfers as the most downloaded game of all time (3 billion downloads and counting!) and continuing to excite and surprise the most important people in the world: Our players!

We’re looking for a talented Principal (Feature) Game Engineer to join our Game Dev team. The magnitude of Subway Surfers requires a special attention to its health and to users' experience. As part of our growing we are constantly adding new features and improvements to our game to continue delivering the quality our users are looking for.

Responsibilities

  • In your first month: You’ll get an understanding of the game’s Feature development loop and workflow . A long process of understanding the project will start with multiple talks while You work together with one of the engineers by fixing bugs and making small features allowing you to start knowing the project.
  • In your first 3 months: You’ll be up and running by now, at this point in time you should have been part of a lot of different parts of the project, having delivered multiple fixes and features. You should have a good understanding of the processes allowing you to start proposing new improvements. You should start being able to check the KPIs we use for validating how stable the features we release are in production.
  • In your first 12 months: You are a vital part of the team. You have become one of the tech owners and you have implemented and improved features, tech and tooling. At this point in time you should be able to diagnose live issues and measure the health of the game. You will also be a role model, and will help set the direction for best practices within your field, and will be a crucial voice in making decisions in regards to the game's future

Requirements

  • Game development experience - you should have worked on LIVE games before.
  • Capability of understanding crash logs, stack traces and memory dumps with the goal of analyzing live issues.
  • Proficiency developing new features, developing tools and working with tech debt.
  • Experience with Unity or any other engine.
