The Role:
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with a focus on AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes to join our team. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. You will work closely with our development and operations teams to ensure the smooth operation of our systems, be required to participate in on-call rotations, and have experience managing Kubernetes clusters.
What You'll be Doing:
- Design and implement cloud-based infrastructure
- Develop and maintain automated build, deployment, and testing systems for our applications and services.
- Continuously monitor and optimize the performance and cost of our cloud-based infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of our systems
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure their applications are cloud-ready and scalable.
- Implement disaster recovery and business continuity solutions for our cloud-based infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible and with a focus on AWS infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters and related services
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure prompt response to system incidents and outages
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of DevOps best practices and standards.
- Experience with secrets management and AWS account best practices is a plus
- Advocating for best practices in security and software delivery throughout the engineering organization.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI and CD concepts such as GitOps etc
- Strong experience with AWS services such as EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, VPC, and IAM
- Strong experience with networking
- Strong scripting and programming skills with languages such as Javascript, golang and Bash.
- Strong experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Packer, Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the Grafana stack.
- Understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security solutions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Able to think through possible failures and edge cases
- Participating in on call rotation
